Community & Charity Involvement

Turning Point Recovery Society

Lance & Wendy have been involved with the Turning Point Recovery Society since 2007. The Turning Point is one of BC’s leading non-profit providers of residential addictions support recovery from drugs and alcohol located in the Lower Mainland and relies heavily on funds raised through donations and events.

Lance & Wendy regularly contribute to their annual gala event through silent auction donations and otherwise. It is a very worthwhile cause that helps many individuals struggling with addiction. Lance & Wendy are honoured to play a small part in helping the Turning Point Recovery Society in whatever ways they are able.

Operation Gift Basket

For many years, Wendy Phillips headed up an effort to provide gift boxes - in the spirit of a Christmas stocking - to local shelters, recovery houses and women's centers. Here is some information about the work of her fantastic elves:

Operation Gift Basket

She let it go in 2014, but still works on behalf of other organizations efforts in the same spirit. If you have any unused, unopened toiletries, or simply wish to donate to a great cause, give Wendy a call and she will let you know what is needed and where to donate.

Royal LePage Shelter Foundation

“Thank you for your on-going and generous support of the Reverse Draw Fundraiser hosted by Royal LePage Sussex in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, locally representing three charities; North Shore Crisis Services Society, Dress for Success Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast Community Services.

With your help, we raised over $9,200 to help women and children in our community to safely escape abuse.

On behalf of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and the women's shelters we support here locally and across Canada, please accept our heartfelt thanks.”

Handsworth Volleyball Team

“The AAAA Sr Girls Provincial Volleyball Championships was a huge success! The elite competition drew the top 16 Sr Girls High School volleyball teams from across British Columbia to the North Shore for the first time in many years. This year Belmont Secondary School won Gold, followed by Handsworth with Silver and Earl Marriott with Bronze! Your contribution was key reason for the success!

The tournament success came from the strong support we received. Your sponsorship support made the difference between this event being ordinary versus extraordinary! Your support allowed us to put on a very memorable event which these athletes will remember throughout their lives!

On behalf of all the teams, players, the host schools Handsworth and West Vancouver, and the organizing committee, we would like to give you a VERY BIG THANK YOU for your sponsorship support!”

Montroyal Elementary

GALA MONTROYALE COMMITTEE:

"Thanks to you, Gala MontRoyale was a huge success! We couldn’t have done it without the generous support of our sponsors and all the parent body who attended, played in the casino, shopped at the silent auction, bought 50/50 tickets and danced the night away! It was a great event.

As you know, Montroyal Elementary, is a diverse, community-enriched school nestled amongst the trees just below Grouse Mountain. The Montroyal Parent Advisory Council hosted Gala MontRoyale at the Hollyburn Country Club as the pinnacle of our annual fundraising efforts.

We’re proud to tell you that we reached our fundraising goal to purchase a full classroom set of laptop computers, which are necessary tools for the students’ educational development (not funded by the School District or the Ministry of Education).

Once again, on behalf of Montroyal Elementary, THANK YOU LANCE!”

MONTROYAL SCHOOL DIRECTORY COMMITTEE:

"Thank you so much for choosing to advertise in the Montroyal School Directory. Our parent community is so impressed with the upgrades this year, we can't wait to start on next year!"

Pacific Community Resources Society

"Thank you for your support of Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) and the people we serve. Specifically, thank you for your generous gift towards the Surrey Youth Resource Centre.

On behalf of the Youth Resource Centres and the youth we serve, many thanks for your continued support and donation of gifts for the Annual Youth Holiday Dinner.

It is heartwarming to have people take an active interest in keeping important services in our community. We appreciate your leadership."

Village Parent Participation Preschool

“On behalf of the Village Parent Participation Preschool we would like to thank you for donating pumpkins to the preschool again this year.

The kids had a great time at our 'Special Persons Day'. They got to bring a special person like a grandparent, mom or dad to school and together they carved pumpkins.

We truly appreciate your spirit of community support!”
